this past weekend i took the kids to pismo beach by myself. it stormed all the way there but was clear and sunny by the time we got to to hotel. perfect.
it was breath taking. we spent the afternoon on the beach. we were in heaven.
then we went to santa barbara. i let them ditch school since monday's are short days anyway. it was worth it. it was one of the funnest days we've had together. sometimes it's rewarding to cut loose and bend the rules. not break the rules, but just be flexible enough to teach them lessons in ways and with experiences they wouldn't otherwise have. we spent hours at the santa barbara museum of history and it was the best little/quaint museum we have ever been to. so much to learn and see at such a cute little place. very worth the ditch!
