this past weekend the ward had a camp out at leo carrillo state beach - in malibu. it was gorgeous. the weather was great. the fire was warm. the kids were dirty and ran around like wild indians. we all slept like babies. it was way too short. but worth the hours of packing and unpacking - setting up and tearing down camp...all in 24 hours.
after the campout we went to the beach for the day and found lots of treasures in the tidepools. who would guess that one minute you're in the mountains, surrounded by wildlife, trees, dirt, and trails...and the next minute (literally), after crossing the street, you are at the beach - smelling the surf, sand, and enjoying sea life and the water.
yup...i'm pretty sure we're sticking around california for a while!
