i love this 1930 summer prints. i don't think the beach and summer were too different than they are now to the little ones. i have the best memories of going and getting scorched. there was no sunblock back then!
this summer we have gone to the beach once! ONCE! and that was at 5pm after we were done with our visit to the getty villa. so, tomorrow i will pack up half the house and go. i can't wait. i could use some color and the kids could use some sand, sun, and surf. living in so. cal. is the best!
i understand that for many, school starts next week!? that sucks. we are just at the half way mark of our summer. we go back sept. 14th! i feel like we're just getting started, really. i was thinking about some of my summer plans and how they've gone out the window...
i had the great idea of hiking every morning at 6am - ya, that happens once a week, maybe.
i had the great idea of joining weight watchers and losing 10 pounds by the time i go to mexico - that's not working out either.
i had the great idea of painting rooms in the house, purging the garage, organizing the computer room, finishing the bathroom makeover, and other projects you do when you have a home - i haven't gotten to doing much of what i had planned. my heck we haven't even taken a family vacation. i think this will be our first summer stay~cation, which is just fine. lil' weekend trips are good too.
i had planned with the kids (on our memorial day get-a-way) "10 weeks of mommy camp" - which meant a different theme for each week of things they wanted to do - and i would be the camp counselor. i will probably lose my job soon.
week 1 - book club camp
week 2 - art camp
week 3 - baking/cooking camp
week 4 - basic skills/survival camp
week 5 - nature camp
week 6 - i'm gone that week so they get to do exactly what they've actually been doing all the
other weeks!
week 7 - fitness camp
week 8 - finance/money camp
week 9 - oh, i guess that was it!
hey, a mother can try.
i think i will be posting, from now on, once a month. like...the first week of the month. seems like thats all i'm capable of doing right now. i'm busy being a mom and wife and friend. i like it. i'd much rather check out other fun blogs (at 11pm) than write on my own. doesn't it seem like everyone else's life is funner? i'm wiser than to think they are. besides, my husband can't stand me taking up time on the computer and away from the family. this week he is gone with lauren so i think i will put the boys to bed and catch up on some posts that i've been meaning to publish. i sure do love summer.
