today the kids went back to school. boo-hoo. not really.o.k., i did actually enjoy them this summer. we did a whole lot of nothing but it was good for all of us to not be on any kind of schedule. we had a lazy summer. some would even call it boring. i say it was relaxing. last night we went around in a circle and had to say only one word that described our summer - surprisingly none of them were bad words.
as the kids and i shopped for back to school items i came across this totally awesome agenda. i saw it at the "container store" but you can find it online to at: www.momagenda.com where i actually also saw some other great items. the one i'm thinking of getting is the "desktop" edition. you just gotta see it. i like the chore chart and then somewhere on the site is a place where you can download and print all these great lists/forms/stuff!! check it out!
getting the deck worked on this week and we're thinking of putting in a pergola over the deck. that tree was incredible. i miss it's shade and character. i'm thinking of planting either an avocado tree or a beautiful maple, for fall color. and a small lemon tree. since the play structure was destroyed it's getting removed but not replaced (sorry kiddos). we'll do something for the kids but i'd like to put a big garden in its place with 6 raised beds, little benches, and a firepit in the middle. behind the garage is where i'd like to have a raised fort for the kids or a platform with a ladder and slide so they'll feel like they're in the treetops. and after the pergola is done i'd like to get this shabby candle chadelier i've had my eyes on for years and some curtains and maybe an outdoor bed. as you can see i like to dream.
