we took the boys on a hike last monday. it was a beautiful, warm california day. the trail was full of hikers. we were in the mountains, hiking by the water, away from the city. and it is january. ian said something like, what does utah have that we don't have here? i said, the seasons. and he said, but isn't this better? it is. i suppose. i love l.a. i love california. i don't love our taxes, high cost of living, our education system, or earthquakes. this hike was torture for the boys and ian and i decided that they'd better get used to them! it ended at a beautiful waterfall. i think what i loved was talking with the boys along the path and enjoying nature together...and the sign at the beginning of the path.
