Back from the dead

Here are some memorable photo's of our great summer vacation...
"hey babe-eh...it's the fourth of july"!

ian having a bon fire with the kids in the back yard.
lauren and maddy rolling down the sand dunes.

the bunk house "agreement" - pay attention to #6....
...because they weren't serious when they wrote it. this place was a tween pig sty heaven!
tide pools on my morning walks.

crabbin' with matt. lil' liz freaked out when they put her lil' pet in the boiling water - oops!
one of many sand castle city's.
on a hike to see a waterfall.
this is what we finally arrived to after a 2.5 mile hike, and no complaints.

crater lake in south oregon and the water is so this blue.
o.k. so i had to take a photo of the shabbiest chicest catholic church ever!
it was a perfect vacation until....the last day...when we found lice. is it ever perfect?
the mama's and the papa's after all the kids were in bed...ahhhh...heaven.
the big kids were out of control...and these tweens kept us behaved!beautiful sunsets at the end of each day.
so i think i kinda lost my "mojo" for bloggin'. got back from a 10 day vacation and got very lazy. took me a week to unpack and get back into the swing of things so here i am now. even though i think i only have 5 faithful readers - this buds for you...
so we took a road trip to oregon for the fourth of july. we rented a house on the beach with my best friend and her family and with our cousins' family. 3 couples and 8 kids. it was seriously a blast. it was beautiful - a bit cold, fattening - i ate like a horse, relaxing - got up late, read, ate, and had no care in the world. it was the best 4th too. everyone sets off those awesome fireworks all night long. the kids were in heaven. the mom's were in heaven. the dad's even had their own fun. the 4 big kids had their own bunk house. good thing. holy cow...they were slobs! we grown ups took hikes, bike rides - well o.k., only ian and matt, went clamming and crabbing, touring cheese factories and other places, and my favorite....watching "cheaters" after putting the kids to bed. we laughed so hard. are we white trash or what? not many families can eat, sleep, bathe, poop, play, and dance together for 7 + days...but we did and not once was anyone sick of eachother. the cousin that went was the "other" ian tervet in our family. it was comfortable knowing he felt so at ease with us as he strolled around in his boxers. now that's comfort.
most memorable moment: 3 moms and 8 kids taking a time out to all dance to "flo-rida" or "low", as most people know it. what a scene and what a workout! this group knows how to party!
i will be back tomorrow with more adventures, humor and photos. bye ya'll.
song of the day: flo-rida by t. pain.
