last night i got together with my 2 bestest neighbors that i grew up with. we hadn't seen eachother in over 20 yrs! we sat at starbucks and talked for hours. as soon as we saw eachother we began to laugh as if no time had passed us by, just as if we had seen eachother yesterday. we have known eachother since 3rd grade when i moved into their "hood". we spent almost everyday together. it didn't matter what we did. we walked to the local markets for candy. we played outside. we swung in the hammocks in their backyard. we rode bikes. we got wet outside. we played in the streets like good typical kids from the hood and liked it. it was just fun to be together. i think they helped me form the sense of humor i have today. we always laughed. we loved to listen to music and dance. we made up dance routines and had contests. george and i used to make up routines together. it was the 70's. we were the disco dancing queens.
we just caught up last night on life for the past 25 yrs. it's great to know some things don't change and that great friendships will always last!
tomorrow we leave for our summer vacation and so i won't be posting for 10 days. but come back mid july and i'll have some great photos and lots to report about where we went and what we did.
song of the day: "copa cobana" by barry manalow because george and lourdes and i used to love this song and it reminds me of them and our childhood. and i had a dog named lola back then.
