downtown l.a. art walk festival

my favorite group this past year - BLACK EYED PEAS

this is my nephew and his best friend who are young, hot d.j.'s on the hip-hop scene. they opened up for my brother's band who played at the "downtown l.a.'s art walk" last week. my sister and i went to support the boys and our brother. it was a "rockin' hot party"! kiki and josh played an 80's mix for the opening act and everyone was dancing and coming up to them, telling them they were great d.j.'s for being in high school still... the fun tid-bit is that josh is the son of taboo, who is one of the singers for black eyed peas (the mexican singer in the white jacket with long hair in the photo above). i took josh home after their gig last week and talked to him all about girls and dating and their prom. and now, i know where taboo lives. not too far from me. not that anyone cares but it's fun if you like the band like i do! them d.j.'s know how to get it on!!!
this is my bro gabe as he jams to the audience. it was seriously a fun night. sarah and i esp. loved people watching. let me tell you - here in l.a. there is plenty to see on the people scene and there is always a look that you say "oh my gosh, can you believe they left the house looking like that??? we laughed and ate and danced. i love living close to my family.

and on the way to the car we spotted this HUGE cockroach!! i swear it was 4-5 inches long!

cool about your family being so musical!

A note about el cucaracha. We get those in NYC, but not only do we see them in the street and basement but also in our homes and even on our sons arms (like this weekend) gross!
