we're replacing the tile - floor and walls, sink/vanity, all faucets, toilet, tub, mirror, all lights, fan and cabinets. basically everythings going to the dump...right where it belongs!
with that being said that means i've been shopping and comparing and doing a lot of homework. the great thing is that my husband could really care less about the details and lets me pick out anything i want, as long as it's in the budget and as long as it's not pink, floral, or second hand finds. also my brother is my construction guy which means I am thee contractor and do all the ordering around. yes i am also doing all the running around and dealing with ordering and choosing and measuring and all the other details...but why would i hand over and pay someone else to do that? that is just part of the CREATING process that i love and that brings me such happiness. i am happy when i am creating.
here are some of my choices and purchases so far...i didn't post a photo of the sink and vanity yet cuz the vanity is an antique piece that i am turning into a vanity and needs to be converted still, and i still have to find a piece of marble for it.
i have bought everything but the tile ~doing that on friday. well and i guess i have other smaller stuff to decide on and get, but the big, major stuff is out of the way. we'll demo next week and then start to install from there. let's just hope my bishop doesn't lose his job.

all of the faucets are from restoration hardware as i didn't wanna go "home depot" cheap and couldn't affort "kallista" or "newport brass" expensive...so i chose "in the middle" quality both in price and quality and it will all be in POLISHED NICKEL. its from the BISTRO collection.
o.k. so now we are moving on to wire baskets. i have been in search for them for quite a while and the ones i really like are not as cheap as i'd like but they are also from restoration hardware and i would be using them in the bathroom.
by the way...these purchases and items are for the front bathroom first. then i do the back bathroom which will be done in an antiqued bronze finish.
these are the ones i like the most - the ones above

this is the tub i wanted but it's acrylic and not cast iron, so my bro says forget it and i love the subway tile and how it goes all the way up the wall. i am getting white, marble subway tile from jeffrey court, it's honed and then using a sparkly tiny pebble blues/white mix for the shower insert/nook. more photos of that to come.
